It’s that time of year when you think about making changes to your life. Most people think along the following lines;
Getting healthier? √
Getting fitter? √
Having more work/life balance? √
All great resolutions but it’s also a great time for making a few changes to your business. Here are my top 5 New Year Resolutions for business owners no matter how long you’re going:
Reflect on what worked and didn’t work for you last year (pick 3 things for each). Simply try and do more of what worked and remove/reduce what didn’t work.
Outsource something that you’re not doing as well as you should/not giving enough time for/hate doing. I outsourced my bookkeeping last year – BEST decision ever as I hated doing it.
Manage your stress levels better – take breaks, exercise, delegate, take a holiday, whatever works for you but get the stress levels down.
Continue to learn – invest in yourself. The world is always changing and you need to keep up with it. Look out for local courses with your Local Enterprise Office, search online for talks/courses or ask other business owners for their recommendations. One hour could change the way you run your business forever.
Delegate more. Learn to delegate (ask your team what they would like to do more of) and you can then focus on growing your business.
Good luck with growing your business in the new year!
